Our Training & Consulting Team
Suzanne owns and manages Insurance Training and Consulting (ITAC) Inc. She has been in the industry since 1983. Prior to joining ITAC in October of 1998, Suzanne was the Training Consultant for Royal & SunAlliance. Suzanne has her Associateship and Fellowship from the Insurance Institute of Canada, as well as a Certificate of Risk Management from the Society of Risk Managers. Suzanne also has her LLQP designation and is working towards her CFP.
In 2007, Suzanne acquired ownership of Founders Insurance Group Inc. She became the President/CEO in 2012.
Cathy joined ITAC Inc. in 2006, assisting ITAC in developing online tools to enhance the learning experience of our students. Prior to joining ITAC, Cathy worked as a consultant in business and information technology for over six years. Since joining ITAC, Cathy has added the CAIB & LLQP insurance designations to her other credentials, including a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University, diploma in Early Childhood Education, diploma in Applied Information Technology and Digital Publishing.
In 2008, Cathy joined Founders Insurance Group Inc, first working in IT/Operations and onto personal service and currently holds a position in the commercial service department.
Sam entered the insurance industry in 1974, joining Montreal Life, advancing to Branch Manager in less than 2 years. In 1979, he joined the ING Group of companies (Commercial Life, Halifax Life, NN Financial), and held numerous corporate positions.
In 1990, Sam started an MGA, called Albanese Financial Group Inc., becoming one of the largest MGA’s in Ontario and a national MGA, fully licensed in all provinces in 1997.
In 1999, ING Canada and Sam put together a 5-year succession plan, culminating in his total withdrawal from the MGA world in November 2004.
Sam joined Seneca College in 2005 with an idea of setting up courses for anyone wishing to enter the life and mutual fund industry. This endeavour fulfilled Sam’s life long dream of providing excellent training for anyone who wished to become a financial planner.
Currently Sam is the Industry Director – Insurance and Wealth Management, having developed the Financial Service Practitioner program, Property and Casualty training program, HLLQP, mutual funds, RESP and many more financial courses. Sam provides both online and on-site training to Atlantic Canadians through ITAC Inc.
Darnise has been an important member of the ITAC team for over 10 years. She has been a reliable and credible resource in the industry well over twenty years! Darnise has obtained her CAIB and LLQP designations and has put both to good use, writing all lines of insurance: personal, commercial and life insurance. When she is not working, Darnise enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughter Jaiden and travelling. Darnise is meticulous in her approach as a Broker and she passes her knowledge, skills and patience to all Brokers she trains.
Jenna is a helpful resource to the ITAC Inc. team providing marketing and administrative support, and this year, she will be putting her excellent presentation skills to work in the classroom. Throughout her experience working as a CSR with Founders Insurance, she has earned her General Insurance License as well as Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University. In her 5+ years in the Insurance industry, she has worked as a front-desk, client-facing broker – working high-pressure shifts. Jenna has also worked several projects for Founders Insurance developing a training manual for new hires. With her friendly persona, eager-to-learn mindset and excellent work ethic and skillset, Jenna is an asset to the ITAC team!
Mitchell is a great asset to the ITAC Inc. team. Having been introduced to the World of insurance at a young age, Mitch has worked many roles at Founders Insurance and is a rising star in the industry. In the past 5 years, Mitch has earned his LLQP and CAIB designations and is currently working towards earning his CIP designation and MBA. When he’s not working with clients, managing his staff, or training in a classroom or online, Mitch spends his spare time in the rink, whether it be playing or coaching hockey. Mitch is eager to help you begin your journey in the insurance field and get you started on the right foot.
